Overview

Mardi Himal Trek 10 days offers some of the astonishing views- from the beautiful landscapes of the Annapurna foothills to the stunning beauty of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks.

The trek offers magnificent views of Mardi Himal, Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, Hiuchuli, Nilgiri, Lamjung Himal, Tukuche, and many more peaks.

Like other Annapurna treks, this trekking region encapsulates all of the natural and cultural wonders that make it more popular, including rugged trails, lush forests, snow-capped peaks, alpine meadows, diverse flora, and fauna. Most notably, these foothills traditional villages are renowned for their slate rooftops and white-washed ochre houses. What’s really of interest is the ethnic diversity of people with their unique culture and traditions, living in harmony.

Further, the best part of the trek is staying in the guesthouses or homestay and experiencing the local dishes and Nepalese village lifestyle very closely.

The trail starts at Phedi, north of Pokhara, and takes in amazing vistas of the surrounding landscapes and traditional villages. During the hike, you will walk through forests filled with rhododendrons and evergreens which for millennia has served as a habitat for birds, wildlife, and plants.

As you walk, you’ll see the terrain changes, switching from subtropical evergreens to alpine vegetation at the Mardi Himal Base Camp. You can look around the scenic views of mountains on the way, and upon reaching Base Camp, you’ll enjoy the closest panoramic views of Mardi Himal and associated peaks. Afterward, we retrace our path back to High Camp and Sidling village followed by a drive to Pokhara and then Kathmandu.

Up until recently, this trek has not been open for a long time. However, over the decades this region has undergone some radical changes. It now attracts a large number of hikers looking to experience more wilderness and natural beauty of the Annapurna region.

The trail links traditional villages via forestry trails with several routes to reach the Mardi Himal Base Camp, and some sections of the trail are remote in nature. So, it is recommended to book this trip from a registered trekking agency and hire a guide.
